How can we
help you?

Below you'll find answers to the most common questions, grouped by topic. If yours isn't here, you'll find how to contact us at the bottom of the page.

Installation and app

Yes. The “Windows protected your PC” screen comes from SmartScreen and appears for programs that Windows hasn't seen on many computers yet, which is common for new apps distributed from their own website. Click More info and then Run anyway.

Only download the installer from the Download section of lo-ot.it. All the steps are in the guide to installing on Windows.

Android blocks installing apps that don't come from the Play Store until you give permission to the app you're opening the file with. When the warning appears, open the settings it offers and turn on Allow from this source for Chrome or the file manager you're using, then go back and tap Install.

If Play Protect says the app is unknown, you can choose to install it anyway. If the file shows up as damaged, download it again on a stable connection.

This happens the first time, because L.O.O.T. doesn't come from the Mac App Store. Open System Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom and press Open Anyway next to the line about L.O.O.T. Alternatively, in Terminal:

xattr -cr /Applications/L.O.O.T.app

You only do this once, and it covers future updates too. Remember to launch the app from the Applications folder, not from the mounted disk.

Not yet: the iOS version will come through the App Store. In the meantime you can manage your searches from a computer or Android and get notifications on your iPhone through Telegram, connecting it as explained in the notifications guide.

Every time it starts, L.O.O.T. checks for a new version and offers it with the Update Now button. On Android and macOS the update happens inside the app. On Windows your browser opens to the new installer: run it and it replaces the version you're using. You can see the installed version in Settings, under App Version.

Yes, with the same account. Your searches, plan and monitoring settings are saved in your account, not on the device, so you find them wherever you sign in. In-app notifications arrive on every device where L.O.O.T. is installed.

The app is in Italian, English, Spanish, French and German, and you change the language in Settings. The website, including the guides and help pages, is also available in Ukrainian and Russian: pick the language with the globe button at the top of the page.

Account and sign-in

Check your spam folder and, if you use Gmail, the Promotions and Updates tabs. If it's not there, press Resend verification email in the app: there's a short wait between sends, and the button shows how long.

If you realize you mistyped the address, press Sign out / Change email and sign up with the correct one. If you sign in with Google, there's nothing to verify.

On the app's sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?, enter your email and follow the link you receive to choose a new one. If you signed up with Google you don't have a L.O.O.T. password: use Sign in with Google again.

On a computer, Google sign-in happens in the browser, which opens by itself. The app waits two minutes at most: if you don't complete sign-in in time, you'll see an error saying that authentication expired or wasn't completed in the browser. Try again, and if the browser doesn't open, check that you have a default browser set.

We don't accept temporary email addresses, the kind you create on the spot and that expire shortly after, because we need your address to send you receipts, subscription alerts and the password recovery link. Use an address you actually check.

On the website, in My account, with the Delete Account button. Cancel your subscription first from Manage Subscription: deleting the account doesn't stop recurring payments by itself. If you've already deleted it without canceling, write to us at [email protected].

Searches and monitoring

Check in this order:

  1. Have you started monitoring? You need to have pressed Start Monitoring in the Console. Adding searches isn't enough.
  2. Did you get “First scan completed”? The first check records the listings already there and sends no notifications. From then on, only new ones arrive.
  3. Is the link sorted newest first? If not, new listings can end up far from the top results. Prepare the link again as explained in the guide to your first search.
  4. Are the filters too narrow? A very low maximum price or too many excluded words can leave out almost everything.
  5. Is your plan active? If it has expired or a payment failed, monitoring stops.

You've reached your plan's maximum and the app shows Limit Reached. Remember that paused searches count too: to add one, you need to delete another. The number for each plan is in the guide to plans and subscription.

It depends on the wait between one check cycle and the next, which you set in the Console under Scraper Configuration, within your plan's minimum. With Starter and Hobbyist you can go down to 45 and 90 seconds, and with Reseller and higher plans to 20 and 40. The actual time also varies with the number of searches and the platform. The details are in the guide to plans and subscription.

That can happen. eBay sometimes slows down or blocks automated requests, and at those times some eBay checks run late or are pushed to the next cycle. Searches on Vinted and Subito aren't affected.

Yes, with the advanced filters, available from Reseller up: turn off Search keywords in title only. Keep in mind that L.O.O.T. then has to open each listing to read its text, and the search check becomes slower. The details are in the guide to advanced filters.

There are two common causes. If the listing's price can't be read, for example “price negotiable”, the price filter isn't applied and the listing passes. Also, keywords are matched inside other words too: pro also finds “product”. If your case is different, write to us with the link to the listing and to the search.

This happens when your plan has expired, when a payment has failed or after a series of repeated errors on a search. In every case you get a notification explaining why. If your plan is active, restart it from the Console with Restart. If it stops again, write to us.

Notifications

First check in the app's Notifications, Channels section, that Permission denied doesn't appear next to “In app”. Then turn off battery saving: phone settings, Apps, L.O.O.T., Battery, Unrestricted. Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and Samsung are the brands where this step is needed most often.

On Windows and macOS, in-app notifications arrive only while L.O.O.T. is open, including when it's minimized to the notification area or the menu bar. Turn on Start L.O.O.T. at login in Settings and, when closing the window, choose to minimize it instead of quitting. To get alerts even when your computer is off, connect Telegram.

You need two things. You must have opened @LiveOnlineOfferTracker_Bot and pressed Start at least once, otherwise Telegram won't let it write to you. And you must have entered your Chat ID in the Console, under Scraper Configuration. The bot doesn't reply to messages: that's normal.

If you use a channel, the bot must be an administrator of it, and the field must contain the channel name with the @ sign, for example @imieiaffari.

The simplest way is to message a bot that returns it, such as @userinfobot: it replies with your ID, a number of eight to ten digits. Copy it into the Telegram Chat ID field in the Console.

Quiet hours, in Notification preferences, hold back non-urgent notifications, but deals arrive anyway, because a good listing at night may be gone by morning. If you don't want to be disturbed, use your phone's Do Not Disturb mode: the alerts stay in History. Quiet hours don't apply to Telegram messages.

The app's History contains every listing your searches have found, including those that arrived together in a single summary alert. The bell, on the other hand, only collects service notifications: monitoring status, subscription, updates and messages from the team.

Subscription and payments

It's available on the Starter plan and lasts two days. A card is required: if you don't cancel before it ends, the monthly subscription starts. It can be used only once per email address. A few days before the first charge we send you a reminder.

On the website, in My account, press Manage Subscription and cancel from the Stripe portal. From the app you get there through Settings, Manage Subscription / Invoices. Everything keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Before activating a different plan, write to us at [email protected] telling us your current plan and the one you want. That way we make sure the old subscription is closed and you don't pay for two plans in the same period.

Monitoring is suspended and you get an email with a link to the invoice to pay. You can also update your card from Manage Subscription. As soon as the payment goes through, the service starts again, with all your searches.

The main credit and debit cards, through Stripe. Payment takes place on Stripe's secure pages: we never see or store your card details.

In the Stripe portal, which you open from Manage Subscription in My account on the website. There you'll find your payment history and can download the documents for each charge.

No. Monitoring stops, but your searches stay saved in your account. When you reactivate a plan you'll find them as they were. If the new plan allows fewer, only the first ones up to the limit are checked.

Privacy and security

No. L.O.O.T. is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with any of the three platforms. For any issue with a purchase, a payment or a delivery, the platform you bought on is the one to contact.

No. L.O.O.T. alerts you to new listings and takes you to the listing page. The decision and the purchase stay with you, on the platform. Before you pay, take a look at the guide on how to buy second hand without getting scammed.

No, and we'll never ask for them. L.O.O.T. works with links to public searches, the same ones anyone can open in a browser. If someone claiming to be L.O.O.T. asks for your password to a platform, don't give it to them and let us know.

Only what the service needs: your account email, the searches you create and your notification settings. Payments go through Stripe. On the website, your language and cookie choices are saved in your browser. You'll find the details in the privacy policy, linked at the bottom of every page, where you can also change your cookie preferences at any time.
