A search
that misses nothing.

The way L.O.O.T. works is simple to explain. You run a search on Vinted, eBay or Subito as you would by hand, with keywords and filters. Then you give us the link to the results page. Our servers reopen that page over and over and alert you as soon as something appears that wasn't there before.

Two practical consequences follow. First: everything you set on the platform, from size to area to price, also applies to L.O.O.T. Second: if the page doesn't show the newest listings first, new ones can slip past. Here is how to avoid that.

The one rule to remember

Before copying the link, sort the results newest first. Each platform names this option a little differently, but it's always there.

The reason is practical. Platforms usually sort by relevance or put sponsored listings at the top, so a listing posted a minute ago can end up on page three. L.O.O.T. looks at the first results, and by sorting newest first you can be sure the new listing is right there.

Preparing the link on Vinted

1. On vinted.it, type what you're looking for in the top bar and press Enter.
2. Set the filters you need: category, brand, size, condition, price.
3. In the sort menu, choose Newest first.
4. Copy the address from the browser's address bar. On a phone it's easier to do this in the browser than in the Vinted app.

A well-prepared link contains the search terms and the sort order, roughly like this:

You can also use Vinted sites from other countries, for example the French, Spanish or German one. On Vinted the size and brand filters are very reliable: use them, because they cut useless notifications more than any keyword.

Preparing the link on eBay

1. On ebay.it, search for the item, writing the model as precisely as you can.
2. In the side filters, choose condition, buying format and, if you like, the price range.
3. In the sort menu, choose the option for newly listed items.
4. Copy the page address.

In the link, _sop=10 is exactly what sorts by newly listed. LH_BIN=1 shows only “Buy It Now” listings: this is the filter we recommend, because with auctions being first doesn't help much, while with a fixed price it makes all the difference.

eBay sometimes slows down or blocks automated requests, and at those times checks on eBay can run a little behind Vinted and Subito. This is an eBay limitation, not a problem with your search.

Preparing the link on Subito

1. On subito.it, type what you're looking for and choose where: all of Italy, or your region or province.
2. Set the category and price and, if you only want items you can have delivered, the shipping filter.
3. Check that the results are sorted newest first.
4. Copy the address.

On Subito the area matters a lot. If you only buy in person, limiting the search to your region spares you notifications for items eight hundred kilometers away. If you use shipping, all of Italy gives you many more chances.

Adding the search in the app

1. Open the Searches tab and press Add Link.
2. In Search Name, write a name that tells you right away what it is. You'll see it in notifications, so “Switch OLED max 200” is better than “search 3”.
3. Paste the link into Search URL. The app only accepts Vinted, eBay and Subito links: if it shows an error, check that you copied the full address.
4. Leave the Active switch on and save.

If you have a Reseller plan or higher, the same screen also has the advanced filters for price and keywords. If monitoring hasn't started yet, remember to press Start Monitoring in the Console.

The first check of each new search records the listings already there and sends no notifications. When it's done you get the First scan completed alert, and from then on you're notified only about new listings.

Editing, pausing, deleting

• Edit: from the search card, open Edit Search. You can change the name, link and filters without losing anything.
• Pause: turn off the switch on the search card. Useful if you're not interested for a few days, for example when you're on vacation.
• Delete: Delete Search, with a confirmation to prevent mistakes.

Watch out for one detail: paused searches count toward your plan's maximum. If you're at the limit and want to add one, you have to delete another one: pausing it isn't enough.

How many searches, and how precise

After a few weeks of use it becomes clear that the best searches are narrow. Some pointers:

• One search per model. “iPhone” on its own sends you hundreds of notifications a day: cases, screen protectors and six-year-old models. “iPhone 15 Pro 256” with a sensible maximum price sends you the ones you care about.
• The same search on several platforms. If you're after a specific item, create one search on Vinted, one on eBay and one on Subito. That's three searches, but you triple your chances.
• The price in the link. Even without advanced filters you can set the minimum and maximum price directly on the platform before copying the link. To choose the figures, read how to find the right price.
• Review after a week. Too many notifications you never open? Narrow it down. No notifications at all? Widen it, or raise the maximum price a little.
